Instructions
Pour the milk into the blender first — liquid at the bottom helps everything blend smoothly.
Add the spinach, Greek yogurt, banana, chia or flax seeds and vanilla.
Add the frozen berries last.
Blend on low for 15 seconds, then on high for 45–60 seconds, until completely smooth. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed.
If the smoothie is too thick, add milk 2 tablespoons at a time. If it's too thin, add a few more frozen berries.
Pour into two glasses and enjoy right away.
Why It's a Good Choice After 50
Greek yogurt is a source of protein and calcium, and berries bring color and fiber. A smoothie is also an easy way to add fruit and greens to your day when your appetite is small or chewing is uncomfortable.
- Protein and calcium from Greek yogurt and milk.
- No added sugar — the banana and berries provide natural sweetness.
- Hydrating and easy to sip, a nice option between meals.
- Sneaks in leafy greens without changing the taste.
Tips & Easy Swaps
- Freeze ripe banana slices ahead of time for an extra-thick, frosty smoothie.
- Add 1 tablespoon of peanut or almond butter for a more filling snack.
- If you take medications, ask your pharmacist about any foods to limit — for example, some medicines interact with grapefruit or large amounts of leafy greens.
Storage & Leftovers
