This Privacy Policy explains how Healty Blog ("Healty Blog," "we," "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects information when you visit www.healtyblog.com (the "Site"), sign up for our free eBook or newsletter, or contact us. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Email sign-up. When you request our free eBook or newsletter, we collect your email address and, if you choose to provide it, your first name.
  • Contact form and email. When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, the subject and the content of your message.
  • Consent records. We keep a record that you agreed to receive emails or to our use of your information to respond to you, including the date and time.

Please do not send us sensitive personal information, such as details about your health, medical conditions or medications. We do not need this information and cannot provide individual medical advice.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by our hosting provider and by the third-party services we use, including:

  • Your IP address and approximate location (city or region level) derived from it.
  • Browser type, device type, operating system and screen size.
  • Pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, and the referring website or advertisement.
  • Information stored through cookies and similar technologies (see section 5 and our Cookie Policy).

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the free eBook and, if you have agreed, send our newsletter with recipes and nutrition articles.
  • Respond to your questions, comments and correction requests.
  • Operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site.
  • Understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site and which content is most helpful.
  • Measure the effectiveness of our advertising, where you have given any consent required by law.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

3. Legal bases (for visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we process your personal data on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, newsletter sign-up and optional cookies), which you may withdraw at any time; our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Site and responding to messages; and compliance with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising without any consent required by law. We share information only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers who help us operate the Site — such as website hosting, email delivery and form-processing providers — under contracts that require them to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.
  • Content delivery services such as Google Fonts and the Unsplash image service, which receive your IP address and browser information when your browser loads fonts and images.
  • Advertising and analytics partners, such as Google, which may receive information about your visit (for example, that you arrived from an ad) when you have accepted optional cookies.
  • Legal reasons — if required by law, subpoena or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Healty Blog, our readers or others.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a small number of essential technologies to make the Site work, for example to remember your cookie choice (stored in your browser's local storage) and the items you check on a recipe's ingredient list. With your consent, we and our partners may also use optional cookies for analytics and advertising measurement. You can accept or decline optional cookies using our banner, and change your choice at any time through the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer. For details, please read our Cookie Policy.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe. Every newsletter includes an "unsubscribe" link. You can also email us to be removed.
  • Access, correction and deletion. You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it.
  • Cookies. You can manage cookies through our banner and your browser settings.

U.S. state privacy rights

Depending on where you live (for example, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it; to access, correct and delete your personal information; to obtain a portable copy; and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. We honor recognized browser opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

EEA, UK and Swiss rights

You may also have the right to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may use an authorized agent where permitted by law. We aim to respond within 30 days, or within the time required by applicable law.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Newsletter subscriber information is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Contact messages are generally kept for up to 24 months after our last correspondence, unless a longer period is required by law.

8. Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International visitors

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

11. Third-party links

The Site may contain links to other websites, such as government health resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to read their privacy policies.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, if the changes are significant, provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.

13. Contact us
